I don’t know what it is, but for some reason, getting a nice, vibrant green on circle lenses is apparently impossible. My eyes are naturally green/hazel, but since I need contacts for cosplay and I like the extra something a vibrant eyecolor brings to a costume, I’ve been on the hunt for a good set of green lenses for a while.
This was the first pair I tried, and they are pretty much a massive disappointment. The color looks saturated in the photo, but as you’ll see in the photos, the color barely pops at all. Okay if you’re going for a natural look, but I demand to look anime at all times.
Unless I don’t want to look anime, which is almost never.
At Katsucon 2013 I realized these had been ruined. I wasn’t terribly disappointed, aside from the fact that I found this out by trying to wear them for most of Friday morning, and had to resort to wearing glasses for my Saber cosplay.
I used these contacts for the following characters. Click the link to see the best photo of these lenses in action. Browse through the gallery to see them in different kinds of lighting.
- Saber x
- Sheryl Nome x
- Yes, Sheryl has blue eyes! I think when I did this shoot I was running late so I didn’t swap out my contacts… so the fact that these contacts aren’t super vibrant came in handy for once.
This list is updated as I use these lenses for other characters. Last update: 7/25/2014.
